ABOUT ME
I'm Karis, a professional artist and curator based in Stockport, Greater Manchester, with over seven years' experience as a freelancing artist.
I make paintings, illustrations, comics, murals, window art, and installation pieces.

My artwork is usually precise and detailed, which is why I love to work in pen and ink. I bring a clean, modern style to traditional media including acrylic paint, ink and pen. You'll see a lot of fine line work in my pieces which is one of my specialties!
My main focus recently has been surrealist portraiture and travel drawings. Through commercial and private commissions, I have drawn and painted everything from scooters to Terry Pratchett fan art!

I often organise exhibitions and creative events to showcase my own work and other people's. I'm currently preparing for Paper Festival, a celebration of paper-based artwork coming to the Manchester in 2021.

I believe that creativity links all people. It can help individuals to communicate and connect.
By making my own work and curating exhibitions, I hope to connect people and encourage thoughtfulness and understanding.
MY STORY
Originally from Yorkshire, I graduated in Fine Art BA (Hons) at Lancaster University in 2015.
In 2017 I moved to Greater Manchester and the thriving industrial city completely won my heart. Manchester has been an amazing place for me to propel my artistic career, and I've been involved in lots of creative projects and events since moving here.

In 2018 I painted a bee for the nationally celebrated Bee in the City art trail, which was featured on local and national news channels before being sold for charity.
​
The following year I had my first solo exhibition titled Exploration In Ink in the Nexus Art Cafe, where I displayed 30 original artworks.
I'm looking forward to the various creative projects on the horizon - watch this space!

I produce window art and murals as well as paintings, drawings, tattoo designs and storyboards for people and businesses. Previous clients include Waterfront Life Magazine, Beer and Co. and Biffa.
